Taqueria Jimador

I am writing this blog after just getting back from lunch with a client to go over a Medical Power of Attorney he wants to execute naming his son as his agent. For those unfamiliar, this document allows another to act as your agent and make medical decisions on your behalf in the event you are incapacitated and unable to make such choices yourself. When I asked him where he wanted to meet to go over this important life decision, he naturally named his favorite local San Antonio taco spot, Taqueria Jimador, located right of of Interstate 10 at 1106 Vance Jackson. Being a staunch advocate of both proper estate planning and delicious tacos, I happily obliged. I've always said the taqueria is like the new golf course anyway, because its where the real deals get done.

Making my way through a busy Monday, I stuck to what I call the working man's lunch. Two tacos (on homemade corn tortillas whenever possible), one bean and cheese, and one chicken fajita. It is the perfect amount of protein and carbohydrates to satisfy that midday hunger without quite putting you in an afternoon food coma. The tortillas were warm and fresh, and the chicken and onion were right off the grill. The bean and cheese could have been a little "meltier" (to use the technical term), but still tasty. The accompanying red and green salsas were tangy and spicy, exactly how they should be. My client went for a slightly healthier option, ordering a salad topped with grilled shrimp, fish, tomatoes, and avocado. I always like it when the waitress insists on sticking to Spanish, even when she clearly understands our English responses. Much like my self-described "Restaurant Spanish", she seemed to get the gist of what we were saying.

My client and I left satisfied with both our food selections and business dealings. With a properly drafted Medical Power of Attorney and a belly full of Mexican food, he could relax, knowing everything in life is good. Overall, Taqueria Jimador offers a nice environment, good service, and great food. Would recommend if you're in the area.
